Prerelease

Published versions are beta prereleases. The app checks the update feed three seconds after launch and offers the next one when it lands.

Verified signature

The Windows installer ships with its minisign .sig, the signature the built-in updater verifies before replacing an installed version.

Windows

Requirements

Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit.

Install

  1. 1 Download the .exe installer.
  2. 2 Windows SmartScreen shows a warning: the installer is not signed with a commercial certificate. Click “More info”, then “Run anyway”.
  3. 3 Follow the installer through.
  4. 4 On first launch, paste your Aimaira portal address. Any page of the portal will do.

Later updates install from inside the app: it checks the feed three seconds after launch.

Android

Universal APK: arm64-v8a, armeabi-v7a and x86_64 in one file.

Requirements

Android 7.0 or newer.

Install

  1. 1 Download the APK.
  2. 2 Open the downloaded file. Android asks you to allow installs from this source: grant it to your browser or file manager.
  3. 3 Accept the system install prompt.
  4. 4 On first launch, paste your portal address.

Android compares versionCode, not version names: an APK whose code is not higher than the installed one is not seen as an update by the system.

iOS

Unsigned IPA, installed by AltStore or SideStore with your own Apple ID.

Requirements

iOS 15 or newer, with AltStore or SideStore already installed.

Install

  1. 1 Install AltStore or SideStore on your iPhone.
  2. 2 In the app, add the source below.
  3. 3 Install BetterAimaira from that source.
  4. 4 On first launch, paste your portal address.

The IPA is built without code signing: AltStore and SideStore re-sign it with your account. On a free Apple account the certificate needs renewing every seven days.

macOS

Local build

No bundle published yet: the local build produces the .app and the .dmg.

Requirements

Bun 1.2 or newer, Rust 1.80 or newer, and the Xcode command line tools.

The bundle is written to src-tauri/target/release/bundle/. Once installed it reads the same update feed as every other platform.

Linux

Local build

No package published yet: the local build produces the AppImage and the .deb.

Requirements

Bun 1.2 or newer, Rust 1.80 or newer, and the Tauri platform prerequisites (libwebkit2gtk-4.1-dev and its companions).

A saved password goes through the session’s Secret Service, so GNOME Keyring or KWallet depending on your desktop.
